We have planned this retreat carefully to replicate the retreat we offer, but tailored to your home environment so you can enjoy it at your pace. The knowledge of Ayurveda combined with mindfulness techniques of Yoga, Meditation, and the teachings of Buddhism will help you to bring health to your body and mind.

How the retreat works

There will be a comprehensive live consultation with Plantation Villa’s Yoga teacher and Therapist to understand and discuss any physical and mental ailments, preferences, and tendencies. The teacher will then guide and provide an additional personal sequence and will be available for guidance follow up.

You will receive a full plan for your retreat with all the materials to download in advance. Your daily schedule will be according to the Ayurvedic recommended daily routine but you can also accommodate it according to your work activities. You can go to your office every day or work from home and still enjoy the benefits of this amazing retreat. This live consultation timing depends on the time zone of clients. Therefore, the final date and time of the online session will be scheduled after the booking has been made.

All classes and talks are recorded by the expert team of Ayurvedic doctors, Yoga teacher, and life-coach and are recorded from the Plantation Villa center in Sri Lanka.

The knowledge of Ayurveda combined with mindfulness techniques of Yoga, Meditation, and the teachings of Buddhism will help you to bring health for your body and mind.

We are aiming to provide more than just a 5-day retreat – we want to teach you a way of life. The ancient teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda help you understand, mobilize, and maintain your body and mind in a way that brings you health and wellness, which can keep you happy, fulfilled, and bright.

The retreats are organized and provided by Plantation Villa Retreat in Sri Lanka. Plantation Villa is an award-winning retreat center, regularly awarded by international organizations as the “Best Wellness Retreat in Sri Lanka”. The center is a social enterprise located in a rural village in Sri Lanka providing homes, food, medicine, and employment for the underprivileged. The center maintains a Charity Trust – the Metta Trust, which works heavily uplifting the living standards of the underprivileged, and works on nature and wildlife conservation.

Yoga classes and meditations

The ancient practices of Yoga and Meditation are a key component in embracing a more mindful lifestyle. Yoga and Meditation allow the body to restore, improve, and develop in the harmony of mind, body, and spirit. Plantation Villa’s experienced Yoga teacher Bernardo has planned a sequence of special classes that follows the Plantation Villa ideals of teaching both practice and theory of yoga.

It’s a special, down to earth approach. You will see that every class is not only about moving the body, but it also contains explanations and guidelines for you to learn and implement in your daily practice and life. His aim is for you to be actually capable of exploring the universe of Yoga by yourself, after learning the principles of movement and breath, and that your practice become one that can give you more than just a 1-hour stretching session, but a transformation of your relationship with yourself. Each class has been prerecorded at Plantation Villa’s Yoga hall so you will be able to enjoy the amazing sound of nature and beautiful birds singing during your practice.

Dhamma talks and Yoga philosophy

Through Buddhist wisdom you will understand how to find true happiness and inner peace which is what everyone in this world is looking for. In the evenings you will watch Plantation Villa’s Dhamma talk about happiness and purpose of life or a Yoga philosophy class about the mind and its potentials. We also prepared for you two sessions on Ayurveda ancient knowledge where you will understand what Ayurveda is about and how can it be beneficial in your everyday life. The classes are prepared by Plantation Villa’s extremely knowledgeable Ayurvedic doctors who are some of the leading physicians in the country.

Food guidance

Plantation Villa will provide you some useful easy recipes including video cookery classes of nutritionally balanced Ayurvedic vegan meals with which were created by Plantation Villa’s team of doctors. You will see how your body reacts positively as you feel lighter and healthier with your food and the Ayurvedic guidance that you can later incorporate into your own daily food routine.

Bernardo has been studying and teaching Yoga and Meditation for over a decade. After owning a Yoga studio in Brazil for several years, he went to travel and study in Asia. For the past 4 years he has been working exclusively with Plantation Villa, a Yoga and Meditation Retreat Centre in Sri Lanka. He has learned mostly under the Krishnamacharya tradition, with teachers including the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, the Mohan family, and Dr N. Chandrasekaran, in Chennai, India. He is also a Healing Chants Teacher (KYM), an Ayurveda therapist, and currently developing the knowledge of Sri Lanka Indigenous Medicine.

Dr. Erandi is the Chief Ayurvedic Physician at Plantation Villa. She holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. Erandi specialises in General Practice, Gynaecology, Sub- Fertility, Menopause and Cancer Care. She is also qualified in Psychological Counselling focusing on Ayurvedic Diet & Nutrition, Fertility Concerns, Stress and Anxiety. Erandi worked for the Government of Sri Lanka as an Ayurveda doctor and worked on many cancer research publications before joining Plantation Villa, where she oversees all cases, including our Cancer patients.
