As a specialist Ayurveda, Yoga Retreat Center in Sri Lanka, we are now launching online retreats so you can benefit from this ancient wisdom carried by the specialist team of Ayurvedic doctors and Yoga teachers. Plantation Villa aims to teach you how to lead a happy, harmonious, and healthy life. Enjoy this unique retreat personalised to you, full of ancient wisdom and mindfulness practices. We have planned this retreat carefully to replicate the retreat we offer, but tailored to your home environment so you can enjoy it at your pace. The knowledge of Ayurveda combined with mindfulness techniques of Yoga, Meditation, and the teachings of Buddhism will help you to bring health to your body and mind.

How the retreat works

You will receive a full plan for your retreat with all the materials to download in advance. Your daily schedule will be according to the Ayurvedic recommended daily routine but you can also accommodate it according to your work activities. Ideally, Plantation Villa recommends you taking 3 days off to completely immerse in the retreat and follow the timetable we have given.

During the retreat, you will also have 6 guided yoga classes with meditations (1 hour), 2 additional guided meditations (30 min), 3 cookery classes of Ayurvedic meals, 2 wisdom talks, and 2 sessions of Ayurveda knowledge. These are sessions that have been pre-recorded.

Retreat information

The objective of this retreat is to help you understand your mind, its nature to roam around and need of stimulation, and how to understand it and modify to gain happiness and a sense of wellness. Plantation Villa is aiming to provide more than just a 3-day retreat – we want to teach you a way of life. The ancient teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda help us understand, mobilize, and maintain our body and mind in a way that brings us health and wellness, which can keep us happy, fulfilled, and bright.

Yoga classes and Meditations

The ancient practices of yoga and meditation are a key component of embracing a more mindful lifestyle. Yoga and Meditation allow the body to restore, improve, and develop in a harmony of mind, body, and spirit. You will be introduced and practice Yoga and Meditation each morning and evening with Plantation Villa’s experienced Yoga instructor, Bernardo. It also contains explanations and guidelines for you to learn and implement in your daily practice and life. Bernardo aims to give you more than just a 1-hour class, but a transformation of your relationship with yourself. Each class has been recorded at Plantation Villa’s yoga hall so you will be able to enjoy the amazing sounds of nature and beautiful birds singing during your practice.

Wisdom talks

Including Ayurveda, Yoga, and Buddhism, with reflections on how to be healthy in mind and body. They will provide the ideal base of theory in order to understand the practices and to readjust your routine and way of seeing things, for a better life!

Ayurveda

Ayurveda incorporates a holistic approach to health. It places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life, right thinking, diet, and lifestyle. This balance is believed to lead to happiness and health, and to help prevent illness.

The Plantation Villa’s Ayurveda doctors are extremely knowledgeable and are some of the leading physicians in the country. They believe in the holistic approach of Ayurveda and the strong connection between the body and mind. They are passionate about what they do and stay true to the original teachings in their practices.

You will receive private consultations with one of Plantation Villa’s Ayurvedic doctor where you will learn more about your body constitution, what is best for your health, best lifestyle for you, and food recommendations. You are also provided talks by the Ayurvedic doctors to learn more about the philosophy and science of Ayurveda so you can better apply it to your life, even after the retreat.

Food guidance and meal plan for every day

Plantation Villa will provide you recipes for every single meal of your retreat including video cookery classes of nutritionally balanced Ayurvedic vegan meals with no usage of artificial products. You will see how your body reacts positively as you feel lighter and healthier with the food and the Ayurvedic guidance that you can later incorporate into your own daily food routine.

Wisdom Talks?

Talks about philosophy and Ayurveda. The ancient philosophies of Buddhism and Ayurveda extensively explain how to live in a way that keeps us healthy and our mind at peace, and thereby bringing high a sense of wellbeing. Two talks based on Buddhist philosophy and two based on Ayurveda are included here.

About the instructors

Bernardo has been studying and teaching Yoga and Meditation for over a decade. After owning a Yoga studio in Brazil for several years, he went to travel and study in Asia. For the past 4 years he has been working exclusively with Plantation Villa, a Yoga and Meditation Retreat Centre in Sri Lanka. He has learned mostly under the Krishnamacharya tradition, with teachers including the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, the Mohan family, and Dr N. Chandrasekaran, in Chennai, India. He is also a Healing Chants Teacher (KYM), an Ayurveda therapist, and currently developing the knowledge of Sri Lanka Indigenous Medicine.

Dr. Erandi is the Chief Ayurvedic Physician at Plantation Villa. She holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. Erandi specialises in General Practice, Gynaecology, Sub- Fertility, Menopause and Cancer Care. She is also qualified in Psychological Counselling focusing on Ayurvedic Diet & Nutrition, Fertility Concerns, Stress and Anxiety. Erandi worked for the Government of Sri Lanka as an Ayurveda doctor and worked on many cancer research publications before joining Plantation Villa, where she oversees all cases, including our Cancer patients.
